Interview Preparation

The consulate interview is conducted in Polish. This page helps you understand the format, but the full phrase training and speaking practice live in the app.

What to Expect

The interview typically lasts 15–45 minutes and is conducted in Polish. The consul is assessing two things: your Polish language ability and your genuine connection to Polish culture.

Don't panic if your Polish isn't perfect. Consuls understand that diaspora applicants grew up outside Poland. They want to see effort and genuine interest — not native fluency.

  • Introduce yourself and explain your family's Polish background
  • Discuss 2–3 Polish traditions your family observes
  • Name Poland's capital, flag colors, and national symbol
  • Know the first line of the national anthem
  • Describe 1–2 major events in Polish history
You don't need fluency
Basic conversational Polish (A2 level) is enough. What matters most is being able to respond simply, stay calm, and show real connection to your heritage.
